It has struck my office. Maybe madness is strong of a word, regardless there have been some funny happenings today.
It all started this morning when a coworker had a head on collision with her office door, that resulted in a bloody nose. In her defense the door is glass - and not usually closed. I kindly informed her that she could star in the next windex commercial and give those silly birds a break for once.
Then, seriously not even ten minutes later a client ran into our front office door. This time there was no blood, but there may have been loss of pride, he was pretty embarrassed. I shall set the scene, this is the entry to the office, from the inside looking out. In the morning both doors are closed - in the afternoon they are usually like the picture, one open and one closed (it gets warm and I have to get a little air flow).

So the client gets off the elevator, walks forward right into the closed side of the door [which is locked...always is, don't really know why]. After he runs into the door he stepped back and then struggled, shaking and shoving the door, trying to force the door open. All the while I was trying to explain to him over her loud shoving of the door that the other side was standing open. Finally he understood, and felt a little silly. But I was able to assure him that he is not the only one to struggle with out doors. It is a daily problem. About 40% of the people that come into our office try to pull the doors open - even though it is pretty clearly marked at eye level to PUSH.
The final bit of madness would be when I went into my bosses office to give him a tax return, and didn't end up leaving for the next 40 or so minutes. He was watching the Memphis Arizona game, and you know, I had been following the live scores online, but watching it was WAY better.
Happy Friday!
