new employee

Funny things tend to happen in my office. Sometimes I write about them here, and sometimes I just tell my roommates, but rarely do they ever merit a photo. Today is one of those rare occasions when I just felt that a story or explanation could do justice to what I found.

We have a couple of empty offices, empty only in the meaning of not belonging to a person, because they are all full of stuff. They have become like storage rooms with spare computers. The desks are usually covered with boxes and files and random spare computer parts. Today however there was an addition to then desk top contents.

Our newest employee:
What?!
Why this wig and head are here I have no idea. I would like to believe there is a logical explanation, but really, what logical reason is there to have a spare wig in an accounting office?

brother bear

One of my favorite brothers is working on his senior project. He is going to be making new promotional videos for Forest Home Christian Camps. Check it out here. Do it, you know you want to.

PROM

Last night after a weekend of anticipation Becca and I went to see Prom. Mid week movies rock, besides the whole not being able to figure out what day it was when we walked out of the theater part. Our jam packed theater consisted of us and an older couple. Perfect, because we chatted and giggled and aaawwwhhed A LOT!
It was super cute, in the nauseatingly charming way. After stopping for the obligatory Prom photos in the lobby we swapped awkward and awful real life prom stories. Which really got me wondering - does/did anyone really have a wonderful time at prom? I don't know if it truly is possible for it to live up to peoples expectations [the real life prom that is, not the movie Prom]? But at least it makes for some really entertaining/embarrassing/humiliating/funny stories.

substitute teacher

You know how class was always a little bit easier when you had a substitute? You got to do word searches and watch movies instead of write papers? That's what work feels like this week. It's WONDERFUL! All the CPA's are out at a conference in Vegas. So there is a grand total of five of us in the office, and half the day only three. It's quiet, relaxed and slow, it feels almost like vacation, almost.

Yesterday someone went out and got us ice cream bars. They were nearly melted before we even got them, but they were still magnificent. And then this morning someone else brought in doughnuts. Some days I think I would have made a great cop because man do I love doughnuts with coffee. Needless to say I will be quite saddened when they all return tomorrow and we have to go back to the real working world, more people, more work and less snacks.
