Monday morning I went about making coffee like normal.
Did nothing different than usual.
Poured in the water, added the grounds, pushed the power button and headed off to get ready. A couple of minutes later I heard a dribbling noise.
I looked over into the kitchen and this is what I saw:
AAAAaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!What a mess.
None of the coffee managed to make it into the carafe.
It was all on the counter.
Faulty Machine!
It has since been returned, but not yet replaced.
Thank goodness for the french press that is serving us in the meantime.

that has happened to me before too!!! Only I did it at starbucks with a 2 gallon coffee brewer. Major disaster and angry caffeine deprived customers! Not my best day ever.
